If you can find the right two references that resonate well, I think it’s a really effective thing to use. Jay Kristoff pitched STORMDANCER as “‘Free Willy’ meets ‘How to train your dragon’ in dystopian feudal Japan with a Rage Against the Machine soundtrack.”

I am in awe of his query skills.

Glad it helped. I checked out your query, and really enjoyed it! Given that you’ve got a pile of full requests out there in the wild, I think you’re in a good spot. I wouldn’t consider tweaking it much unless you’re not getting many responses at all.
